What is a TIP?

A TIP, or Transportation Improvement Program, is a comprehensive compilation of federal, state, and locally funded transportation projects. All modes of transportation are included in the a TIP. This includes: transit, roadways, bridges, aviation, seaport, rail, and commuter rail. Increasingly popular are some other modes such as bicycle facilities, pedestrian provisions, and enhancement projects such as landscaping and greenways.
